Wheel See

Help

Most of this is quick. The rest is one email away.

The wheel

Is it rigged?

No. Every slice has the same odds on every spin. The pick comes from your device's own random number generator, the same one it uses for security, and nothing is weighted. The only rule is it won't land on the same thing twice in a row, because that felt broken even when it wasn't.

How do I take something off the wheel?

Tap it in the list under the wheel. Dim means benched. Tap again to bring it back. On the verdict card there's also "take it off the wheel" for the one that just won.

What's "nope"? And why did it stop letting me?

You get three nopes on a wheel. After that, the wheel's word is law: the next spin is final and the wheel closes for an hour. That's on purpose. If you're still arguing with a wheel after three goes, the wheel isn't the problem. Other wheels still work in the meantime.

Can I make my own wheel?

Yes, up to twenty options, with an emoji in front if you like. Tap "new wheel" in the row of tabs. Share it with the share button and the whole wheel travels inside the link.

Rooms

How do rooms work?

Tap "ask the group", pick how many of you there are, send the link. Everyone opens it on their own phone and crosses out what they can't stand, in secret. When the last vote lands, the wheel spins once and every screen shows the same answer. That answer is final.

Someone in the group never voted. Now what?

Whoever opened the room can spin early with the votes that are in. Open the room link, and the button's on the waiting screen.

I closed the tab. Where did my room go?

It's still there. Open the same link again and you're back in, with your seat saved. Rooms last a week, then delete themselves.

Can anyone see what I crossed out?

No. Not the group, not the person who opened the room, not us. The server only ever says how many have voted, and once it's settled, what survived. More on that here.

The iPhone app

Why does it buzz?

Every peg the flapper crosses gives a tiny tap, so you feel the wheel slowing down. The mute button turns off the sound, not the buzz, because mute is about noise.

Shake to spin isn't working.

iPhones only share motion after you've tapped something in the app once. Tap the wheel, then shake. If it still doesn't, check that Motion & Fitness is allowed for Wheel See in Settings.

Something's broken, or you want to say hi.

Wheel See is made by one person. Write to hello@wheelsee.app and you'll get that person, not a ticket number. Say which phone and which browser if it's a bug.
